Located on the state line of Indiana in the center of the state, The Froh Community Home and Rehabilitation Center has for the past ten years been awarded the “Center of Excellence Award” from the State of Michigan’s quality assurance branch. We are affiliated with various organizations that assist our continual drive for cutting edge quality care. Two Medical Directors are available 2-3 times a week, a Psychiatrist weekly, and other physicians that have privileges.
The Froh Community Home houses 106 beds with a wide array of services are provided including Rehabilitation, Activities, Transportation, and Social Services to mention a few.
We encourage and welcome your comments and concerns and invite you to discuss with us those issues. Our staff is available at anytime and visiting hours are 24 hours daily. Quarterly interdisciplinary meetings are scheduled with you and your loved one or we meet whenever you wish. Our goal is to provide quality care and treatment, meeting family and resident’s goals.
A trained nurse in the area of wounds, provides care and treatment for residents with various stages of wounds and ensures pro-active interventions are being provided to prevent the development of skin problems.

The Social Service Director coordinates behavior interventions with the staff and monitors, through weekly behavior management meetings with a psychiatrist, the use of psychotropic medications and behavior interventions.

Our beauty shop is located at Station II. If you would like an appointment, please let a staff member know and they will be happy to let our beautician know, or you may notify her in person. You can set up appointments for weekly, every other week or as needed. See the beautician for pricing and billing information.
An optometrist makes scheduled visits to our facility to do eye exams and order glasses when appropriate.
An interest bearing account can be established for the resident to draw funds 24 hours a day, just like a bank. We suggest that money is not kept in the resident’s room.
Thurston Woods Village can transport a resident to a scheduled medical appointment for a nominal fee. Appointments must be scheduled as far in advance as possible. Call the facility and ask for the Transportation Department.
We do everything possible to prevent the incidence of falls however the elderly are at high risk for falling. We utilize a non-restraint policy meaning we do not use seat belts or side rails unless it is to provide treatment for a medical condition. Our building is secure for those residents that may be at risk for leaving the building unsupervised through an audible monitoring system. Our Fall and Elopement committee meet daily to review the best interventions to reduce the risk of falls, injury and elopement.
Weight loss is important. A Registered Dietitian assesses all residents for their dietary needs and preferences. A committee meets weekly to review resident’s weight and appropriate nutrition.
Meets weekly to review the pain interventions and to assure the pain the resident may be experiencing is controlled.
Short stay and long term rehabilitation is our specialty and staffed 6-7 days a week, specializing in knee and hip replacements, shoulder repair and general disabilities.
Each semi-private room feature a twin size bed with a pressure relieving mattress, over bed table, night stand and built in dresser and closet. We encourage families and residents to make the room “homelike” by allowing radios, pictures, shelves, stands and of course the favorite chair. A television and cable service is provided. Telephone service is available and the resident/family may arrange this service through the local phone company that is billed to you directly from the carrier. At least 7 changes of clothing are recommended, marked with the resident’s name. Our residents choose comfortable seasonal clothing such as sweat suits, jeans, shorts and pull over shirts. Walking shoes and slippers should have a non-slip material on the soles for safe walking on the floors. Laundry services are provided at no additional charge. We encourage valuables to be kept at home or suggest they are kept in our safe.

Our facility is blessed with a beautiful outdoors area which we call the Gazebo area. Here you can enjoy the surroundings with your loved one or rest assured if they need an area that is enclosed for their safety to enjoy the outdoors themselves.
Our outdoor area includes a pond, a glider swing, and a gazebo, just peaceful relaxation. In the summer our dining program frequently has cookouts in this area for friends, family and staff.
A shelter and tables are provided for families to get together for the summer evening cookout or activities.
You can reserve that area for family reunions or picnics by contacting our Activities Director, Sue Gray.

Froh Community Home provides skilled nursing care and rehabilitation. A person can qualify for admissions to Froh Community Home in various ways. We may make an initial assessment visit to your home, hospital or from another facility to assure you that we are able to provide you with the care and treatment that you deserve. If we do not feel we can meet those needs we will refer you to other facilities that may be better to meet your specific needs. We will require that the physician provides us with your medical records and other information that will help us to establish our ability to care for you. This will be reviewed prior to accepting you. We again do this because your care and treatment is very important and we want to do the very best for you. Also our professional billing consultants and insurance experts are available to help you. Call Mary Oman for further information.
